Overall photos at the beginning of the project

This photo gallery shows our progress in lighting the layout as of May 2009. Just adding this little touch transforms the layout into a magical wonderland. You will note that some of the buildings still "glow" either because we haven't gotten around to masking off their interiors or because the way the building is constructed we can't get to the inside without destroying it. For the ones we can get into, we are always looking for folks to volunteer to do these tasks. You can do it at home if you contact either Gil Brauch or Carl Wessel so we can arrange getting the building to you. In the meantime, enjoy...

Here is the overview of the residential section of the layout.

This is the front side of the layout looking toward downtown with the carnival in the distance.

Here is the carnival at night.

As we move back along the front edge of the layout, we can see that the Farmer's Market is still in full swing this evening.

As folks enjoy themselves on the boardwalk, the tigers are getting restless in their trailer. Must be feeding time.

I love a parade! Even if it is at night. The street lights really add a nice touch to this scene.

Even the Barber Shop is open this evening. Wonder what the guys are jawing about...

We got trouble, right here in Train Town... and it starts with "P"... as a small band of felttop warriors engage in combat by the dim light of the beer sign on the wall.

... Speaking of the beer sign...

Shoppers are still looking for bargains at the furniture store...

While others go about their business just down the street.

They must have a rush job they are working on at Abernethy's Garage.

Round and round they go... on the ice rink.

Other folks are enjoying a round of Putt-Putt after enjoying a meal at the Pizza Hut next door.

These photos show our progress with selected scenes as of May 2008. You can see just how much difference a little cleanup can do with a scene. And the cleanup can be done in your own workshop. Jim Allen did his at home. We will furnish not only the scene components to be restored, but also photos of how it looked 'before' to guide you in your restoration. Just contact Gil Brauch or Carl Wessel if you are interested, or just drop an email to .

Jim Allen transformed this building into the outstanding looking Rexall Drugs scene as shown below.

The skating rink was not only 'grungy' looking, but it didn't work.

The rather seedy looking theater district takes on a whole new look after restoration as shown below.

The original building was pretty non-descript, so we decided to add some character to it -- a process we usually don't follow, but it suited this purpose.

After restoration, not only does it look better, but the skaters now merrily circle about on the rink.

We were able to get pretty close to the original with this one, although finding all the right 'little people' remains quite a challenge.

Wade Warren's wife surveys progress on the layout while a little visitor points out something of interest to her mommy.

More visitors checking things out.
